During the second season in a row, Xbox Game Pass consumers have unlimited access to the Xbox versions of the game.[3] Starting off April 1, anyone who purchased the MVP or Digital Premium editions as early use of the video game.

The R.B.I. The baseball series concluded due to the Nintendo Switch getting a port, resulting in one of the first MLB baseball games without any rivals in the United States, either model or arcade. GameSpot rated the title with a rating of 7/10, praising its gameplay and the inclusion of new types of games while criticizing the game's overall lack of imagination and boring commentary.[6] GamesRadar gave MLB The Show 22 a 4/5 rating and stated the following about it: "Gripes out of the way, MLB That Show 22 remains a fun, genuine, and comprehensive simulation, among the sport's best. It also praised the inclusion of the March to October option but bemoaned its sparse additional features. Sony's game competes with NBA 2K for the title of the finest sporting product while ignoring outside demand for it to repeat and improve."MLB The Show 22 is largely a retread of a previous already great game," IGN stated in its 7/10 review. "Unfortunately, more bugs than normal and the not fully prepared for prime co-op mode are signs that the series may be losing some momentum."[14] While Baseball The Show 22's main gameplay was excellent, Game Informer noted that it started to get stale."One week after launch, MLB The Show 22's online reception is shaky," the website wrote in regard to the game's technical issues. Internet security is still an important problem. Despite having all of the content from the PlayStation and Xbox editions, the new Switch version has significant framerate stutter. While criticizing the unchanged aesthetics, dated modes of play, and recurrent commentary, Push Square and Shacknews praised the gameplay, seasons, co-op, and simplified format. Even though the Switch version of the game has significant technical problems, like framerate stutters and decreased visuals, many review sites said it was still fun to use.
